Mystery South Australian wins $24.9 million Oz Lotto prize
8 May 2012
A South Australian player has won $24.9 million following tonight’s Oz Lotto draw, making them the State’s third largest lottery prize winner in SA Lotteries’ 45-year history.
The advertised $70 million Oz Lotto Division One prize swelled to an incredible $74.8 million as a result of players’ overwhelming response to the jackpot draw.
The mystery South Australian winner shares tonight’s Division One prize pool with two interstate players, each also pocketing $24.9 million.
As South Australia’s mystery winner did not register their ticket on an Easiplay Club membership, SA Lotteries has been unable to alert them of their multi-million-dollar win.
The winning ticket was purchased at an SA Lotteries agency in Adelaide’s western suburbs and contains the following winning numbers:
6 8 17 28 34 41 42
Lauren Halliday, Customer Relations Manager at SA Lotteries, encourages players to check their tickets and urges the winner to contact SA Lotteries Head Office on 8208 4100 to claim their prize.
“SA Lotteries is excited that a local player has shared in tonight’s $74.8 million Oz Lotto Division One prize pool and we certainly hope to hear from the winner soon,” said Ms Halliday.
“But, our mystery mega-millionaire isn’t the only one with reason to celebrate,” she explains.
“A further 122,987 players throughout the State have shared in more than $2.4 million across other Oz Lotto prize divisions,” she said.
SA Lotteries’ profits from Oz Lotto are distributed to State hospitals for the benefit of all South Australians.
