Promoting responsible lottery play

14 May 2012

As Responsible Gambling Awareness Week launches across the nation, SA Lotteries is reminding all South Australians of the importance of playing its games responsibly.

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week is an Australia-wide initiative held in May each year to heighten community awareness of the importance of responsible gambling practices and encourage individuals to seek help in minimising gambling-related harm.

SA Lotteries is globally recognised for operating at the highest level of responsible gambling standards, having been awarded the top accreditation in 2009 under the World Lottery Association (WLA) Responsible Gambling Framework for a mature and well-established responsible gambling program inherent in its day-to-day operations.

Players concerned about their lottery play, or that of a family member, are encouraged to contact the Gambling Help Line on free call 1800 060 757 for immediate access to confidential advice.

More information on how to 'Have Fun and Play it Safe' with SA Lotteries can be accessed at www.salotteries.com.au/responsibleplay.
