Millionaire mates celebrate Monday night lottery luck

A lucky pair of long-time friends from Adelaide’s western suburbs are celebrating today after learning that they won $1 million in last night’s Monday and Wednesday X Lotto draw.

As the winning entry, purchased at Campbell’s Newsagency in Oaklands Park, was registered on an Easiplay Club membership, SA Lotteries was able to contact the regular players with the news of their windfall.

“We’ve been playing the same numbers for many years, so it’s about time they came up,” one of the winners said.

“It’s great that we won the prize together, as we can now share this amazing experience,” he said.

Although the lucky locals are still coming to terms with the news of their win, an overseas holiday is on the top of the wish list for one winner and the other is hoping to pay off their mortgage.

The millionaire mates were the only players nationally to match all six winning numbers in last night’s Monday and Wednesday X Lotto draw. So far this year, eight South Australian players have shared $12 million in Monday and Wednesday X Lotto Division One prize money.

SA Lotteries’ profits from Monday and Wednesday X Lotto are distributed to State hospitals for the benefit of all South Australians.
